PALM DESERT

They water the golf course about 10 times a day so the girls all thought it was a good idea to run through the sprinklers. I'm not sure if they were suppose to but they had fun none the less!

Knotts Soak City
The 8 story slide that all the little girls decided to try! After the first time down we couldn't keep them off it.

The weather wasn't the only thing that was hot that day!

Kacey/Tyler went head to head with Gary/Mike for the big water balloon toss, but in the end Gary and Mike were crowned the Champs and won a 2 hour bike rental. Going for a bike ride is just what you would want to do in 112 degree weather! Congratulations, guys!
Breakfast in Aunt Lis' room. She always has the best "stuff"
Brook and Kate were buds all week. Kate says some pretty funny things but my favorite was when she was waiting in line to ride the Gondola, she complimented a little boy on his pirate shoes and then asked him if he liked her stripper shoes. I don't know where she gets this stuff!

My family all went to Palm Desert for the week and it was a much needed break from real life! This is the first vacation that I wasn't a complete stress case about my kids. They are old enough to run around with the other kids and it was really relaxing for me. The hotel was way cool. They had a lot of activities but one of the kids' favorite was the "Dive In" movie in the pool. We went to Soak City and my kids loved it. Ally is tall enough to ride the big slides and she did! The first one we took her down was the Pacific Spin. She wasn't too sure at first but after that she was all over the place. It was fun to be with my family. We have so much fun together and I love that we can get together and just have a good time.

Rats!

Brook's big line!! She nailed it! :-)
Activity day girls did a week long day camp where they practiced and then performed a play for their families at the end of the week. The days were long but the girls made some new friends, had fun, and were really proud of their accomplishment. Haylee was Narrator #3 and Brooklyn was Rat #6. We were so proud! It was a great experience and many memories were made.

Daddy/Daughter Western Dance

Sassy
I know....he's a spitting image of Tim McGraw

Giving dad a shave

The chicks dig him!

Activity Day Girls had a daddy/daughter Hoe Down! Brooklyn was so excited to go because it was her first big activity. Their leader did a great job. She had a lot of games and activities planned. Haylee's favorite part was when her dad had to give her a foot rub and Brooklyn loved the square dancing! They had so much fun and Jarrod was a good sport about it!!

Graduation

I can't believe my baby graduated from kindergarten and my oldest is going to middle school!! It was a little bittersweet to watch both. Ally loved kindergarten but is excited to be a "big" first grader next year and Haylee is looking forward to Joan Macqueen. I seriously can't believe how fast they grow up!!

Woodstock

Ally's kindergarten class did a tribute to Woodstock. They sang a lot of old "hippie" songs and danced around.

Brooklyn's Baptism

Brooklyn turned 8 this year and was so excited to get baptized! It was such a great night for her because she had so many family and friends there for her special day.

Hip Hip Hooray!!

So my mom has been in some serious pain for quite some time now because of her hip. Finally, after a long wait she finally had her hip replacement surgery scheduled. This was the Sunday before her surgery. All the boys got together to give her a blessing, she was so nervous about the surgery. It has now been 6 weeks since she had the procedure done. It hasn't been the easiest recovery but she is doing amazing and she is so happy she had it done. I am not only grateful for the miracle of modern medicine but also for the power of the priesthood. I am so happy for her....she will have a new lease on life!

The San Diego Zoo x 3!

Haylee, Brooklyn, and Allyson all had trips to the Zoo during May. I was lucky (?) enough to get to go with all three of them. Haylee's pictures are on my phone and I haven't figured out how to put them on my computer....I know....shocking.
